CamFinTech Insights

Methodology

What the dashboard claims, how it's built, and what it deliberately leaves out. Intended as a one-page primer for journalists and policy researchers.

What this is

CamFinTech Insights synthesises Cambodia financial-services activity from public sources — regulator notices, official Telegram channels, English- and Khmer-language press, and structured datasets where available. Each item is read by an LLM, tagged across four taxonomy axes, scored for audience relevance, and held behind an approval gate before it ever reaches this site.

The pipeline emits a daily morning briefing, a Sunday-evening weekly synthesis, and a first-of-the-month deep report. Only briefings that have been approved by a human editor in Telegram appear here.

The 4-axis taxonomy (v2.0)

21 values total + audience score
Sectors 9 values
Cambodia financial-services sectors. Items tagged here are commercial activity inside one of nine sectors. Non-FinTech items are deliberately untagged on this axis.
Regulatory 5 values
Cambodia regulators and their actions: NBC, MEF-side, the sector regulators (SERC, NBFSA, IRC), CFIU, NCC.
Global trends 4 values
Cross-border developments worth watching: stablecoins, open-banking regimes, AI in finance, real-world-asset tokenisation.
DPI lens 3 values
Digital Public Infrastructure lens. The two Cambodia DPI layers (identity/data and payments-XB) plus a Government-as-a-Platform comparison frame.

The approval gate

Why nothing un-edited reaches this page

Every briefing the pipeline drafts is sent to a private Telegram bot, not to this site. A human editor reads it, taps Approve or Reject, and only approved drafts trigger a site rebuild. Rejected drafts never appear here and never enter the RSS feed.

In practice this means a briefing typically shows up here within ten seconds of approval. Drafts in flight are not visible by any URL.

Audience relevance

Who is each item useful to

Every tagged item carries a two-key score — banker and public_sector — each rated high, medium, or low. The default lens on this site shows items where public_sector is high or medium; the Banker toggle exposes commercially-tilted items that aren't relevant to public-sector readers.

Owned-channel content — LinkedIn post drafts that the pipeline generates as a by-product — is deliberately not surfaced anywhere on this public site.

What this dashboard is not

Hard scope lines

The dashboard does not produce price signals, valuation calls, or investment advice. It does not auto-derive forward-looking projections from market data. Macro tiles reflect snapshot counts as of the most recent build, not rolling averages.

Khmer-language coverage on this site is restricted to text that has been hand-reviewed by a native copywriter; the pipeline reads Khmer sources but does not publish machine-translated Khmer to the public surfaces. Images of named Cambodian officials or regulators are not machine-generated.

Use this in your reporting

For journalists

Activity counts, axis-axis crosstabs, and entity-level activity are all derived from the underlying briefing items. Attribution: CamFinTech Insights, camfintech.com. Direct links to specific briefings, entity pages, and taxonomy values are stable and safe to cite.
